Buying guide

How to source inputs on ADAM

Four principles that save mid-size Ukrainian farms 10–30% on input costs and three days of phone calls per quote.

01
Chapter 01

Compare verified offers, not catalog prices

Every vendor on ADAM is EDRPOU-verified. Every pesticide batch is cross-referenced against the State Register of Plant Protection Products. When comparing offers, we normalize price range, MOQ, lead time, and payment terms — so you compare apples to apples, not five different PDF quotes.

02
Chapter 02

Time your orders to the market

Spring demand in Ukraine peaks February–April; fertilizers and pesticides book up. Winter is the best window to negotiate for spring inputs. Post-harvest autumn is right for machinery and spare parts as vendors clear inventory. ADAM surfaces current market price ranges on every product — book when the trend is on your side.

03
Chapter 03

Storage, compliance, documentation

Ammonium nitrate is classified as an explosive precursor since 2022 — storage requires a Derzhprodspozhyvsluzhba permit. Pesticide purchases require a State Treatment Log entry per Reg 2023/564. Every order through ADAM ships with invoice, expert conclusion, and phytosanitary documents (where applicable) — no separate requests.

04
Chapter 04

If you can't find what you need

ADAM covers 10 427 products across 12 categories, but agronomy is infinite. Request a custom quote via the Quote button on any product — we route to 5+ vendors and return verified offers in 4 hours. For technical questions (right herbicide, right rate), our AI Agronomist is trained on Ukrainian agronomy + regulatory context.

FAQ

What Ukrainian farmers ask before buying

Fresh-market basil (greenhouse, 80–120 UAH/kg wholesale to retail chains, 12+ t/ha/year on heated), cilantro/coriander (seasonal, 30–80 UAH/kg outdoor, 4–8 t/ha), and culinary parsley (25–60 UAH/kg, 8–15 t/ha) lead fresh. For essential-oil extraction, lavender (Crimean varieties, 35,000–55,000 UAH/ha gross with oil distillation) and peppermint (with menthol 70%+ oil) remain specialty options. Commercial success requires contract with processor or retail chain before planting — spot market for herbs is thin.

06
Glossary
Hybrid
An F1 hybrid is the first generation from crossing two parental lines (mother × father), showing heterosis: yield exceeds the parent average by 15–40%. Hybrid seed cannot be re-sown the following year — in F2, heterosis dissipates and yield drops 25–50%.
