Term

DSTU standard

Also known as: Ukrainian national standard

Full explanation

System structure: (1) DSTU — mandatory and voluntary standards developed by technical committees; (2) DSTU EN — harmonized with European EN; (3) DSTU ISO — harmonized with ISO; (4) DSTU GOST — legacy GOSTs still valid but voluntary. Since 2015 GOSTs lost mandatory status; only DSTUs are now mandatory. Key grain-sector standards: (1) DSTU 3768:2018 «Wheat. Technical Conditions» — 6 quality classes by protein, gluten, test weight; (2) DSTU 4525:2006 «Rapeseed»; (3) DSTU 7011:2009 «Sunflower. Technical Conditions»; (4) DSTU 4290:2004 «Maize. Technical Conditions». For milk: DSTU 3662:2018. For crop protection: DSTU ISO/IEC 17025 for laboratory accreditation. All standards are purchased at uas.gov.ua, at UAH 800–3,500 per PDF. For EU export, DSTU-EN harmonization reduces supplementary inspections.
