W.A.L.E.S.+ (tank-mix order)

Also known as: WALES order, tank-mixing sequence, tank-mix loading order

Full explanation

W.A.L.E.S.+ codifies the sequence: (1) fill the tank to 50% with water before any chemistry; (2) W — water conditioners (AMS 8.5–17 kg/1000 L, ammonium citrate) for hard water ≥10°dH — this is the exception to base W.A.L.E.S. but critical before glyphosate; (3) A — adjuvants and surfactants; (4) L — liquid suspensions (SC/SL), e.g. Karate Zeon, Gesagard; (5) E — emulsifiable concentrates (EC), e.g. Pulsar, Dual Gold; (6) S — solids last (WG/WP — granules, powders), e.g. Amistar, Granstar. 2–5 min agitation between each step. Final check: small-jar test (1 L field water + all products at proportional rates) before full tank fill. Source: `analyze_tank_mix_compatibility` tool (pesticide-kb.ts §5.1). Breaking the order = suspension thickening, nozzle clogging, crop leaf burn, loss of a 100–300 ha spray.
