Adjuvants fall into 4 classes: (1) non-ionic surfactants — Trend 90 (Syngenta), Tween 20, SilWet — reduce droplet surface tension; (2) methylated seed oils (MSO) — Mero (Bayer), Dash HC (BASF) — boost penetration of lipophilic actives; (3) water conditioners — Proquest, X-Change — lower pH and chelate Ca²⁺/Mg²⁺ in hard water; (4) drift retardants — Greenwave, Eurowet — reduce wind drift. Typical rates 0.1–2 L/ha. Price UAH 80–350/L (April 2026). Critical for sulfonylureas (Granstar, Express), ACCase herbicides (Axial), systemic fungicides in hard water. Ukraine's State Register of Pesticides registers adjuvants as a separate category. At water pH >7.5, glyphosate efficacy drops to 50% without a conditioner.
