Term

Rodenticide

Also known as: rodent control

Full explanation

Two classes: (1) FIRST-GENERATION anticoagulants — warfarin, coumatetralyl (cheap, UAH 60–120/kg bait, 5–10 feedings required); (2) SECOND-GENERATION anticoagulants — brodifacoum, bromadiolone, difenacoum (single-dose lethal, UAH 180–320/kg [VERIFY]). Forms: paraffin blocks for wet conditions, granules for burrows, wax blocks in stores. Rate: 2–4 kg/ha field-applied into burrows, 30–50 g per station in livestock buildings. Regulatory anchors: Ukraine's Pesticides Law, State Register (mepr.gov.ua), EU Reg 528/2012 (biocides). The EU restricted brodifacoum and bromadiolone in 2024 due to secondary poisoning of raptors.
