Term

Flotation tire

Also known as: low-pressure tire, wide-section tire

Full explanation

Common sizes: 710/70R38, 800/65R32, 1050/50R32. Principle: lower pressure at the tire-soil interface → less compaction, smaller footprint. Tire cost: UAH 45k–130k [VERIFY], vs UAH 18k–45k for standard. Economic upside: (1) less subsoil compaction — yield preservation 3–8% next season; (2) lower draft force → 3–5% fuel savings; (3) less rutting. Alternatives: IF/VF tires; tracks; dual wheels. In Ukraine flotation tires are most common on self-propelled Amazone/Hardi sprayers, KUHN/Amazone spreaders.
