Term

IF/VF tire

Also known as: Improved Flexion / Very Improved Flexion

Full explanation

The ETRTO standard defines IF and VF: (1) standard 710/70R42 at 1.6 bar carries 6,500 kg; (2) IF 710/70R42 at 1.6 bar carries 7,800 kg (+20%) or the same weight at 1.3 bar; (3) VF 710/70R42 at 1.6 bar carries 9,100 kg (+40%) or the same at 0.96 bar. Additional: IF/VF tires get the CFO (Cyclic Field Operation) designation. Benefits: (1) 15–25% lower ground pressure → less compaction; (2) +20–30% durability (less flex fatigue); (3) 'floating' ride — less vibration, operator comfort. Drawbacks: (1) 60–90% costlier than standard; (2) sensitivity to sharp objects; (3) harder repair. April 2026 [VERIFY]: IF 710/70R42 — UAH 85k–110k; VF 710/70R42 — UAH 110k–150k.
