Diammophos, DAP NP 18:46 (diammonium phosphate)
Diammophos, DAP NP 18:46 — a granular nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer with 18% nitrogen, 46% total phosphates and 2.5% sulphur for basal, pre-sowing and in-row application.
Main advantages
- N 18% and phosphates 46% — nitrogen and phosphorus together
- Alkalizes solution at the granule — phosphorus on acid soils
- Rows on chernozems — especially solonetzic ones
- Light soils — nitrogen losses up to 25%
Overview
About this product
Diammophos, DAP NP 18:46 — a complex granular nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer: total nitrogen 18±1%, total phosphates 46±1%, sulphur not less than 2.5±0.4%, water not more than 1.8%, pH 6.0–7.2. It is used for basal and pre-sowing application and foliar feeding during the growing season; the seller calls it a "spring" phosphorus fertilizer.
Per the seller, diammophos is also effective on acid soils, because during dissolution it temporarily alkalizes the solution around the granule. It is applied in rows on chernozems, especially solonetzic ones.
On light soils and irrigated fallow, rates are calculated precisely: losses of nitrified nitrogen can reach 25%.

Questions & answers
What farmers ask most
- Rates depend on crop, prior history and soil analysis. Urea and other straight nitrogen grades are not an NPK complex: a cereal ballpark is often 100–250 kg/ha of product, but the exact dose is an agronomist's call.
