DAP

DAP (diammonium phosphate) — a light-brown granular nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer of grade 18-46-0 containing 46% phosphorus (P2O5) and 18% ammonium nitrogen. As a concentrated source of phosphorus it stimulates the early development of the root system, tillering and the energy metabolism of plants, and is therefore a standard basal and starter fertilizer for cereals, oilseed and row crops. Farmers apply it broadcast before pre-sowing tillage or locally during sowing, where the ammonium form of nitrogen improves the uptake of phosphorus in cold spring soils.
