Overview

About this product

Ammophos, MAP NP 11:52 — a highly concentrated granular nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer whose nitrogen and phosphorus content, per the seller, depends on the supplier. The standard is taken to be 11±1% nitrogen in ammonium form and 52±1% phosphorus in soluble form; the specification gives total nitrogen as 12±1%.

Available phosphates make up 97±1% of the total. Ammophos is soluble in water, not hygroscopic, does not cake, and its physiological reaction is slightly acidic.

It is applied in rows to all crops, in autumn to winter cereals, as a basal fertilizer for root crops and for feeding fruit and berry crops, on soils with sufficient potassium content.

Questions & answers

What farmers ask most

  • Rates depend on crop, prior history and soil analysis. This is a straight fertiliser, not an NPK complex at 150–300 kg/ha. An agronomist sets the dose from nutrient offtake.
