About this product
Emerson (105 days) – a sunflower hybrid from ART-AGRO, intended for obtaining high-quality oil produce under difficult phytosanitary conditions. The main advantages are resistance to seven and more races of broomrape, tolerance to herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl (Granstar), and also powerful starting growth for maximizing yield. Suitable for growing in intensive and moderately intensive sunflower growing technologies.
Purpose and application Emerson was developed for farmers who seek to achieve an early and stable sunflower harvest with an increased oil content even in regions affected by broomrape. It is ideally suited for sowing in fields with increased biotic pressure, including with a short growing season, and provides flexibility in carrying out sowing operations regardless of the agronomic background.
Advantages of use Rapid starting growth and even rooting at the initial stages. Resistance to herbicides of the SU group (tribenuron-methyl): the possibility of integrating modern protection technologies. The potential of an increased yield and oil content – maximum profitability of every hectare. Resistance mechanism Genetically built-in tolerance to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl makes it possible to fight grass and dicotyledonous weeds effectively without reducing the potential of the hybrid. Strong genetic protection against most of the widespread races of broomrape (A–G+) prevents damage to the root system and yield losses.
Features and unique properties An early hybrid with a growing season of 105 days – optimal for a fast turnover of the field. High resistance to diseases: phoma, phomopsis, white and grey mould, powdery mildew (resistance index 9). Undemanding as to preceding crops and adaptability to different soil and climatic conditions. Technical specifications Crop type: Sunflower (seed for sowing) Growing season: 105 days Hybrid type: Single-cross Resistance to broomrape: races A–G+ Resistance to herbicides: Tribenuron-methyl (SU), for Granstar Plant height: 165 cm Head size: 24–28 cm Weight of 1000 seeds: 72 g Oil content: 56 % Initial growth energy: 8 (out of 9) Lodging resistance: 9 (out of 9) Drought resistance: 8 (out of 9) Tolerance to diseases: Phoma – 9, Phomopsis – 9, White and grey mould – 9, Powdery mildew – 9 Average yield: 36 c/ha (according to trial data) Yield potential: 62 c/ha Recommended harvesting density: 45–50 thousand/ha (moderate intensity); 55–60 thousand/ha (intensive technology) Application recommendations Sow into well-prepared, levelled soil with a fine-crumb structure for optimal germination and rooting. Observe the sowing dates in accordance with the agro-climatic features of the region for the best realization of the early growth. Choose the plant stand density according to the indicators of the agronomic background – intensive or moderate production. For integrated protection use herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. In the event of phytosanitary risks, supplement the technology with appropriate fungicidal or insecticide-acaricide measures. Storage conditions: store the seed in a dry, cool, ventilated warehouse room, in the factory packaging, protecting it from direct sunlight and moisture. Key advantages Broad resistance to races of broomrape (A–G+) – effective protection even in difficult regions where this parasite is widespread. Compatibility with the herbicide Granstar – the possibility of implementing modern protection schemes without harm to the yield. High tolerance to diseases and lodging – stability of productivity even in unfavourable years. An early start and a short growing season – optimal for intensive farming and fast release of the field. High oil content – additional profit for the agricultural enterprise. Why Emerson is chosen: This is a modern hybrid for professional agribusiness that combines early and confident growth, powerful resistance to biotic factors and versatility of use in different agro-climatic zones. Emerson – a guarantee of a stable yield and high profitability of sunflower growing in Ukraine.
