Бетагард — системний післясходовий гербіцид виробництва DEFENDA у формі концентрату емульсії. Він поєднує три діючі речовини — фенмедифам (91 г/л), десмедифам (71 г/л) та етофумезат (112 г/л) з груп фенілкарбаматів і бензофуранів. Препарат знищує широкий спектр однорічних дводольних бур'янів, зокрема важкоконтрольованих, а також деякі злакові в посівах цукрового буряку. Діючи через листя та ґрунт, його вносять по вегетуючих бур'янах послідовними обробками до змикання рядків; перші ознаки дії з'являються через 2-7 днів.

Combined foliar and soil activity. Phenmedipham and desmedipham are photosystem II inhibitors that concentrate in weed chloroplasts and block photosynthesis; ethofumesate, a benzofuran seedling-growth inhibitor, is absorbed by roots and germinating coleoptiles and disrupts lipid synthesis and wax-layer formation. Together they cause irreversible loss of photosynthesis, protein and lipid metabolism, and cell division in susceptible weeds.
