Full explanation
In Ukraine, fertigation is used mainly in protected cultivation (Combinat Teplichnyi, TK Dnipro, TK Dnister greenhouses), open-field vegetables (Chumak, large tomato and pepper growers), intensive apple orchards of southern Forest-Steppe and Steppe, and viticulture (Shabo, Colonist). After the June 2023 Kakhovka dam destruction, fertigation is strategically important for restoring southern irrigated area — precision dosing saves water and fertilizer. Equipment: Venturi injectors, Dosatron, Mixrite; dosing pumps Netafim, Eltex; filters 120–200 mesh (mandatory before drip emitters). Fertilizer forms: soluble KNO₃, Ca(NO₃)₂, MAP Solub, urea, magnesium salts (MgSO₄·7H₂O). April 2026 equipment price: fertigation kit for 10 ha orchard — EUR 15 000–35 000/ha [VERIFY]. Trade-off: high CAPEX, but 2–3 year payback in intensive orchards; not economically viable for cereal crops.
