Express Sun is a non-GMO mutation-selection technology giving sunflower tolerance to tribenuron-methyl (0.04–0.05 kg/ha). Clearfield's main competitor — shorter residual effect (fewer following-crop restrictions: you can plant winter wheat in autumn after sunflower harvest) and cheaper seed licence. Limitation: works only on broadleaf weeds — grasses need a separate pass (Stratos Ultra, Fusilade Forte). Flagship hybrids: Corteva (Sultana, Falcon), MAS Seeds (MAS 86.OL), Syngenta (SY Kadix ExpressSun). Seed price USD 55–75/unit, 10–15% cheaper than Clearfield Plus. Ukraine has ~90 Express Sun hybrids registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties. Recommended for fields with a history of ALS-resistant weeds (Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Xanthium strumarium).
