Overview

About this product

YaraTera CALCINIT — a fully water-soluble nitrogen-calcium fertilizer. Nitrogen 15.5%, of which 14.4% nitrate and 1.1% ammonium; calcium 19% (CaO 26.5%).

Nitrate nitrogen is not volatile and is not bound by soil particles, and calcium, per the maker, strengthens cell walls, improving the quality and storability of produce. Calcium shortage shows as rot at the tips of tomato fruit, scorching of lettuce leaf edges and internal brown spots in potatoes.

It mixes with all water-soluble fertilizers except those containing phosphates or sulphates. Chlorine-free powder, 25 kg pack, Norway.

Questions & answers

What farmers ask most

  • Rates depend on crop, prior history and soil analysis. Urea and other straight nitrogen grades are not an NPK complex: a cereal ballpark is often 100–250 kg/ha of product, but the exact dose is an agronomist's call.
