SY Irisa AR is a Syngenta sunflower hybrid in the medium-early maturity group, developed for the A.I.R. herbicide-tolerance system that lets growers apply either imazamox/imazapyr or tribenuron-methyl products to control weeds and broomrape. It combines good drought and heat tolerance, strong early growth vigour, resistance to downy mildew and broomrape races A-G, and a high linoleic oil content of 49-51%. Positioned for extensive cultivation across the drought-prone Steppe zone of southern and eastern Ukraine.
