About this product

Maize seed Arlen FAO 300 (mid-season hybrid)

ARLEN FAO 300 — maize seed of the medium-maturing group ARLEN FAO 300 is a modern single-cross maize hybrid for growing for grain, ideally adapted to the various soil-climatic zones of Ukraine. High yield and resistance to lodging and disease make it a reliable choice for farms with conventional, minimum or zero tillage technology. Suitable for the production of grain maize.

Purpose and application Growing maize for grain in the zone of the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissya. Optimal for farms introducing minimum or zero tillage technology, and also for conventional systems. Recommended in crop rotations where high adaptability and stability of the result are required. Advantages of use Demonstrates a stable result even with minimised agrotechnology and on various soil types. Has increased resistance to lodging, common smut, root rots and the main fungal diseases. Owing to fast moisture release it reduces the cost of grain drying and makes it possible to harvest earlier. Features and unique properties A genetically improved hybrid with a flint-dent grain structure, which provides stable quality of storage and processing. The optimal plant height (about 260 cm) and ear attachment height (90–100 cm) provide easy harvesting and a reduced probability of losses. High tolerance of stress factors, drought and difficult weather conditions. A wide range of recommended sowing densities — makes it possible to adapt the technology to regional particularities. Technical characteristics Name: ARLEN FAO 300 Category: Maize — sowing (seed) Hybrid type: Single-cross (modified) hybrid Originator: LLC «TK Art-Agro» Year of registration in Ukraine: 2022 Maturity group: Medium-maturing (FAO 300) Plant height: about 260 cm Ear attachment height: 90–100 cm Rows of grain in the ear: 14–16 Number of grains per row: 26–28 Grain type: Flint-dent Potential yield: 16.5 t/ha Grain moisture release: 13–14% Resistance to diseases: Helminthosporiosis — 8 points Fusarium — 7 points Common smut — 9 points Root rots — 9 points Drought tolerance: 8 points Resistance to lodging: 8 points Recommended sowing density: Steppe: 60 000–70 000 seeds/ha Forest-Steppe: 65 000–80 000 seeds/ha Polissya: 80 000–85 000 seeds/ha Recommendations for use Sow according to the recommended density, depending on the climatic zone: Steppe, Forest-Steppe or Polissya. Suitable for growing under conditions of minimum and zero tillage, and also conventional farming. Choose the optimal sowing dates in accordance with the weather conditions and soil moisture; take into account that the hybrid has fast grain moisture release (13–14%). Observe the principles of crop rotation and basic phytosanitary measures in order to increase resistance to disease. Store the seed in a dry, cool room protected from direct sunlight and with low relative air humidity. Advantages of the product High potential yield in the medium-maturing group (up to 16.5 t/ha). Powerful resistance to stress factors: drought, lodging, the main diseases of maize. Adapted to modern tillage technologies (minimum/zero). Provides minimal losses thanks to fast moisture release and a well-developed stem system. The ideal choice for farmers who value reliability and predictable profitability. By choosing ARLEN FAO 300, you invest in yield, stability and quality, modern agricultural technologies and a reliable result regardless of the conditions of the season.

Questions & answers

What farmers ask most

  • Optimal sowing depends on crop, zone, and seasonal weather. Winter wheat in the Forest-Steppe: Sep 10–25. Corn: when soil is stable at +10°C at 10 cm depth. See the 12-month sowing calendar at /blog/practice/seasonal-planning.
