Maize seed Andres FAO 350 (highly drought-tolerant mid-season hybrid)
About this product
Maize seed Andres FAO 350 (highly drought-tolerant mid-season hybrid)
ANDRES FAO 350 is a versatile maize seed of the medium-maturing type, developed for consistently high yields in the arid regions of Ukraine. The hybrid is distinguished by high drought tolerance, standability at the moment of harvest and comprehensive resistance to the main diseases of maize. Recommended for the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissya zones, especially for agricultural producers who seek to maximise yield in changeable climatic conditions.
Purpose and application Intended for growing for grain in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissya zones. Integrates optimally into crop rotations, suitable for conventional, minimum and zero tillage. Can be grown both in monoculture and in rotation with other crops without losing productivity. Suits farms that value resistance to stress factors (drought, disease, lodging). Advantages of use Stable yield even in years with a moisture deficit. Minimal yield losses thanks to high resistance to lodging (9 points). Reduces the risk of the spread of the main diseases of maize—helminthosporiosis, fusarium, common smut, root rots (9 points). Flexibility in growing technologies — adapted to different agricultural systems. Features and unique properties High yield potential — up to 16.5 t/ha. An excellent combination of drought tolerance (8 points) and mechanical strength of the stem. Flint-dent grain type — a fast start and optimal moisture release at harvest (15–16%). The hybrid has been recommended since 2018 and has passed successful variety trials in different regions of Ukraine. Technical characteristics Full name ANDRES FAO 350 Category Maize — seed Hybrid type Single-cross medium-maturing (FAO 350) Originator LLC «TK Art-Agro» Variety trials since 2018 Plant height 270 cm Ear attachment height 90–100 cm Rows of grain on the ear 14–18 Grains per row 28–32 Grain type Flint-dent Resistance to helminthosporiosis and fusarium 9 points Resistance to common smut and root rots 9 points Resistance to lodging 9 points Drought tolerance 8 points Recommended sowing density (Steppe) 60 000 – 70 000 seeds/ha Recommended sowing density (Forest-Steppe) 65 000 – 80 000 seeds/ha Recommended sowing density (Polissya) 80 000 – 85 000 seeds/ha Yield potential up to 16.5 t/ha Moisture release at harvest 15–16% Recommendations for use Observe the regionally recommended sowing densities in order to optimise productivity (see technical characteristics). The choice of tillage technology — in accordance with the recommended systems: conventional, minimum or zero. Pay attention to the results of the local agrochemical soil analysis, observe the balance of macro- and micronutrients in nutrition. Regular monitoring of the state of the crop during tendril formation and grain fill. To realise the yield potential to the maximum, apply integrated plant protection and fertilisation systems. Storage conditions: store the seed in dry storage premises protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of +5…+15°C and a relative humidity of up to 60%.
Application timing: sowing is carried out at the optimal times for the corresponding agroclimatic zone, usually during the period of stable warming of the soil in spring.
Advantages of ANDRES FAO 350 Stable yield and high drought tolerance — effective performance in stressful climatic conditions. Exceptional resistance to lodging and disease, which makes it possible to minimise production risks. Broad adaptability to any growing technology — from classical to zero tillage. Potential yield of up to 16.5 t/ha — the optimal choice for farms that seek maximum productivity. Proven efficiency and reliability — the hybrid has passed variety trials since 2018 in different regions of Ukraine. Why it is worth choosing ANDRES FAO 350: this is a hybrid proven in practice, which makes it possible to achieve a consistently high result in the conditions of modern agriculture, providing reliable protection of the yield and flexibility in agricultural technologies.

Questions & answers
What farmers ask most
- Optimal sowing depends on crop, zone, and seasonal weather. Winter wheat in the Forest-Steppe: Sep 10–25. Corn: when soil is stable at +10°C at 10 cm depth. See the 12-month sowing calendar at /blog/practice/seasonal-planning.
