ДКС 4897 — середньопізній гібрид кукурудзи Dekalb із ФАО 380 та зерном зубовидного типу. Він поєднує добру посухостійкість і холодостійкість (по 8/9) з високою стабільністю та пластичністю (9/9), здоровим міцним стеблом і сильною кореневою системою. Висока стійкість до фузаріозу стебла й качана (9/9) забезпечує тривалий перестій до збирання, а качан закладає 20–22 ряди зерен. Гібрид рекомендований для всіх зон вирощування та всіх типів ґрунтів, окрім піщаних, для зернового й силосного використання, зокрема на зрошенні.
