BRANDT Reaction S DS — water-soluble fertilizer with sulphur 23.0% and nitrogen 21.0% that, per the maker, protects sulphate in the soil from inactivation by calcium.

Main advantages

  • Charge shielding — protects sulphate from calcium
  • More mobile sulphate ion — more available to roots
  • Less immobilized calcium in soil — per the maker
  • More sulphate in the plant — per the maker

Overview

About this product

Per the maker, the technology shields the negative charges of sulphate in the soil, so calcium does not inactivate the sulphur, and the more mobile sulphate ion moves towards the root much like nitrate, though more slowly. The BRANDT Reaction line is meant to reduce the amount of fertilizer compared with traditional ones and to improve the availability of elements.

Ammonium nitrogen 20.0% and urea nitrogen 1.0%, seaweed extract 1.2%, polysaccharides 1.2%, humic acids 0.5%. The dose depends on the deficiency; without soil or leaf analysis, for sulphur deficiency: mild 2–5 kg/ha, moderate 5–9, severe 9–12 kg/ha.

Questions & answers

What farmers ask most

  • Rates depend on crop, prior history and soil analysis. Urea and other straight nitrogen grades are not an NPK complex: a cereal ballpark is often 100–250 kg/ha of product, but the exact dose is an agronomist's call.
