Batu

Batu — a systemic post-emergence herbicide for maize that combines two active substances of the sulfonylurea class — rimsulfuron (500 g/kg) and thifensulfuron-methyl (250 g/kg) — in the form of water-soluble granules. It destroys annual and some perennial grass and dicotyledonous weeds, in particular couch grass, Johnson grass, foxtail species and knotweeds. Penetrating through the leaves, it blocks the enzyme acetolactate synthase and stops the growth of the weeds. It is applied by ground spraying at the 3–5 leaf stage of maize together with the surfactant Talant.
