Main advantages
- 600 g/L aclonifen (SC) — concentrated broadleaf control
- Absorbed by shoots, not roots — hits germinating weeds
- Bleacher (HRAC 32) — distinct resistance-break mode
- No soil incorporation — one less field pass
- Pre-emergence systemic action — early season clean-up
About this product
Ailar
Ailar is a systemic pre-emergence herbicide from DEFENDA, formulated as a suspension concentrate with 600 g/L of the diphenyl-ether active ingredient aclonifen. It controls annual dicotyledonous (broadleaf) weeds by inhibiting pigment biosynthesis: the active is taken up through the shoots of germinating weeds, not the roots, bleaching young seedlings so growth stops and they die within two to three weeks. Spray onto fine, moist, well-prepared soil at 15-25 °C and wind below 5 m/s; no incorporation is required.
