Full explanation
Automation levels: (1) Boom Section Control — shuts off whole sprayer-boom sections (typically 5–11 sections on an 18–36 m boom); (2) Nozzle-by-Nozzle Control — individual nozzle shutoff (PWM — Pulse Width Modulation, Raven Hawkeye, TeeJet DynaJet); (3) Row Shutoff — on drills, independent control of each row unit. Savings per AEF and Deutsche Saatenunion: (1) 24 m sprayer with Section Control on an irregular 100 ha — 6–9% less product + 5–8% less fuel; (2) drill with Row Shutoff — 3–5% less seed. Section Control is especially valuable on wedge-shaped fields and fields with irregular boundaries. April 2026 [VERIFY]: Section Control is standard on all new Amazone UX, Horsch Leeb, Hardi, John Deere R4040/R4050, Case Patriot sprayers. Aftermarket (Müller ISOBUS Terminal) — UAH 120k–220k for an 18–24 m boom. Payback: 1.5–3 seasons.
