- Sulphur as sulphate ions — available to plants
- Incorporation to root depth — basal nutrition
- Oilseed rape, cabbage, legumes — respond well to sulphur
Overview
About this product
Granular ammonium sulphate, AS N21,24 — a nitrogen fertilizer and source of sulphur (NH4)2SO4: not less than 21% total nitrogen in dry matter and 24% sulphur in the form of sulphate ions, water not more than 0.3%, free sulphuric acid not more than 0.05%. The granules are obtained by mechanical compaction of crystalline ammonium sulphate.
It is applied for basal nutrition with incorporation to root depth on neutral and alkaline soils, and on acid podzolic soils its use is undesirable because of free sulphuric acid. Crucifers, oilseed rape, cabbage, legumes and rice respond especially well to sulphur.
With prolonged use the soil is limed periodically.

Questions & answers
What farmers ask most
- Rates depend on crop, prior history and soil analysis. Urea and other straight nitrogen grades are not an NPK complex: a cereal ballpark is often 100–250 kg/ha of product, but the exact dose is an agronomist's call.
