Референт — спиртовий неіоногенний поверхнево-активний ад'ювант у формі розчинного концентрату з вмістом 980 г/л етоксильованих спиртів. Його додають у бак обприскувача в останню чергу, після розчинення всіх пестицидів та агрохімікатів. Ад'ювант знижує поверхневий натяг крапель і покращує змочування листкової поверхні, розширюючи покриття та збільшуючи поглинання. Особливо посилює проникнення й пришвидшує дію гербіцидів групи сульфонілсечовини. Застосовується у концентрації 0,1-0,2% (100-200 мл на 100 л води), передусім за складних погодних умов та на переросших бур'янах із восковим нальотом.
