Overview

About this product

The maker NPZ describes Picard as a compact, early-flowering variety of a robust branching type that gives high yields on good and very good fields. It tolerates low nitrogen, late sowing and drought, and adapts to both maritime and continental conditions.

It grows robustly in autumn, elongates and flowers early in spring, and the stem has a special wax layer. Multi-year trials showed good adaptation of the variety to wide rows and occasional gaps in the stand, so it is suitable for precision (single-seed) sowing.

In maturity group 5 (medium) it is ready for threshing relatively early.
