The MT242E is an MT2E-series compact tractor with a 42.5 hp four-cylinder YANMAR diesel and a synchro shuttle gearbox. It is built to work with backhoe equipment, and equal forward and reverse gear counts keep the working speed when changing direction.
An independent PTO drives powered implements, and the Category I three-point hitch has position control. Remote valves are optional and the brakes are wet multi-disc.
