About this product

LG 31271 Silage Corn (FAO 270)

LG 31271 is a medium-early silage corn hybrid (FAO 270) for high-energy silage and biogas across Ukraine's Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones. The stay-green, flint-dent plants reach 280 cm and balance grain starch against green mass for high fibre digestibility. It rates 9/9 for grain yield potential, drought tolerance, and fusarium tolerance, holding up under stress and disease pressure. Sow at optimal-early dates for 80-95 thousand plants per hectare, and begin harvest at the end of milk-wax ripeness.

What farmers ask most

  • Optimal sowing depends on crop, zone, and seasonal weather. Winter wheat in the Forest-Steppe: Sep 10–25. Corn: when soil is stable at +10°C at 10 cm depth. See the 12-month sowing calendar at /blog/practice/seasonal-planning.
