About this product
DEFENDA Sigma
DEFENDA Sigma is a systemic suspension concentrate fungicide that pairs azoxystrobin (200 g/L), a strobilurin, with cyproconazole (80 g/L), a triazole. Azoxystrobin forms a preventive barrier that blocks fungal respiration and spore germination, while cyproconazole penetrates plant tissue to curatively halt established infection by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis. It protects cereals, legumes, oilseed crops and sugar beet against a broad range of fungal diseases. Apply as a foliar spray at 0.5-1 L/ha, keeping the tank-mix pH between 5 and 8.

Active ingredients
- Cyproconazole 80 g/L
Dual systemic mode of action. Azoxystrobin (FRAC 11, QoI) blocks mitochondrial respiration in fungi, forming a preventive barrier that stops spore germination. Cyproconazole (FRAC 3, DMI) inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis, curatively arresting infection already inside the plant within about 30 minutes of application. Moves acropetally through the xylem.
