About this product
The main task of the particulate pre-filter is to protect a person from harmful aerosols of dust or from liquid or oil aerosols suspended in the air together with gaseous substances, in concentrations that pose a danger to human health. Another task of the pre-filter is to extend the service life of the gas filter until its resource is exhausted, to prevent its contamination by dust and other aerosols. The pre-filters are attached to the gas filters by means of the 3M 501 holder. In doing so the pre-filter is positioned on the gas filter over the marking of the gas filter; with the unmarked side outwards. The 3M™ 6000 and 3M™ 2000 series particulate filters do not require the use of a pre-filter.
