About the brand
Shell plc is the British-Dutch energy giant founded in 1907 through the merger of Royal Dutch Petroleum and Shell Transport and Trading Company. Today Shell is one of the largest public companies in the world with revenue above $380 billion and operations in 80+ countries. Beyond oil and gas, Shell operates one of the world's strongest tribology labs — the science of friction and lubrication. Shell Global Solutions in Hamburg, London, and Singapore develops lubricants for the most demanding industrial conditions, including the agricultural sector. Key Shell agricultural lines: Rimula (diesel engine oils for tractors and combines, including Rimula R6 — the premium line for modern Tier 4 / Stage V engines), Tellus (hydraulic oils for sprayers, implements, and combines), Spirax (transmission oils for all types of farm machinery), and Gadus (multi-purpose greases for load-bearing joints). Shell is officially recommended as factory-fill at John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, CLAAS, Fendt, and Deutz-Fahr.

Presence in Ukraine
Shell has been present in Ukraine since 1996 — one of the first Western oil brands after independence. Since 2007, Shell has run its own distribution network through the Kyiv office (initially Shell Retail Ukraine, later Shell Lubricants Ukraine). Shell's share of the Ukrainian agricultural lubricants market is about 22%, making it the segment leader ahead of Total (~15%), Castrol (~12%), and Lukoil (~10%, declining due to sanctions). The strongest position is in diesel engine oils: Shell Rimula R6 is factory-fill in John Deere 8R/9R, Case IH Magnum, and CLAAS Axion tractors — which drives stable demand for regular oil changes. Tellus S2/S4 hydraulic oils are popular in the sprayer segment thanks to high thermal stability. On ADAM in April 2026, Shell products are quoted by 4–6 distributors with an average response time of 6.5 hours. Standard items ship next-day within the Forest-Steppe — Shell maintains regional warehouses in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Odesa. The top-demand items are Shell Rimula R6 LM 10W-40 (209 L drum), Shell Tellus S2 V46 (1,000 L IBC), and Shell Spirax S4 CX 50 for CVT transmissions.
