About the brand
Mitas was founded in 1932 in Prague as Barum — one of the first Czechoslovak tire producers. After several reorganizations and 1990s privatization, the brand joined CGS Holding and was acquired by Sweden's Trelleborg Group in 2016 for €1.2 billion. Today Mitas is the 'mid-tier' brand in Trelleborg's portfolio: higher quality than BKT (the budget tier) but 15-20% cheaper than premium Trelleborg TM. Factories in the Czech Republic (Zlín, Otrokovice) and Serbia (Ruma) ensure fast logistics to Central and Eastern Europe. AC 85 is the flagship: a radial tractor tire with reinforced tread for mixed use (field + road), lasting 6,000-8,000 engine hours. HC 3000 R is a combine tire with VF technology (Very High Flexion) reducing soil compaction by 25% at full hopper load.

Presence in Ukraine
Mitas has been in Ukraine since 2003 through the Trelleborg Group distribution network and independent dealers — AgroTire (Kyiv), ShinAgro (Vinnytsia), TechnoShina (Poltava). The Zlín (Czech Republic) warehouse delivers to Kyiv in 3-5 days. Mitas holds 10-15% of the Ukrainian ag-tire market, mostly among mid-size farms 200-800 ha that want better quality than BKT but won't pay the Trelleborg premium. April 2026 prices: AC 85 520/85R42 from 52,000 UAH (BKT 42,000, Trelleborg 68,000), HC 3000 R 800/65R32 from 95,000 UAH.
