About the brand
Corteva Agriscience was created on June 1, 2019 as the result of splitting the combined DowDuPont company after their 2017 mega-merger. The new brand brought together three historic global agricultural players: DuPont Crop Protection (founded 1802), Dow AgroSciences (1897), and Pioneer Hi-Bred (founded 1926 by Henry Wallace, later US Vice President). This combination created the world's second-largest seed company (after Bayer-Monsanto), with annual revenue above $17 billion and operations in 140+ countries. Pioneer remains the flagship seed brand within Corteva — globally known for maize and sunflower with a long breeding lead. In crop protection, Corteva is known for Granstar, Kyleo, and Intake herbicides; Aproach Prima and Wakil fungicides; and the innovative spinosad-based Spinoram insecticide. Corteva also invests in digital agriculture through the Granular platform, acquired in 2017, which provides software for field planning, bookkeeping, and yield analytics.

Presence in Ukraine
Corteva Agriscience has been operating in Ukraine since its 2019 founding, though its predecessors Pioneer and DuPont Crop Protection have been active since the 1990s. The Corteva Ukraine subsidiary in Kyiv coordinates distribution through a network of 60+ official partners. Corteva's strongest Ukrainian position is in seeds: Pioneer holds about 20% of maize and sunflower hybrid acreage, competing head-to-head with Dekalb (Bayer) and NK (Syngenta). Top Ukrainian hybrids in 2026 are Pioneer P9903 and P0217 (maize for the Steppe) and P64LE25 and PR64F66 (sunflower for intensive farms). In crop protection, Corteva holds about 12% of the market. The top-demand items are Granstar (tribenuron-methyl) for broadleaf weed control in cereals, Kyleo (glyphosate + 2,4-D) for pre-emergent treatment, and Aproach Prima for cereal fungicide protection. On ADAM in April 2026, Corteva products are quoted by 4–6 distributors in crop protection and 3–5 in seeds with an average response time of 7.2 hours.
