About the brand
Fendt was founded in 1937 in Marktoberdorf (Bavaria, Germany) by the Fendt brothers as a farm equipment repair shop. The first Dieselross tractor in 1938 was among Europe's first light diesel tractors. In 1995, Fendt pioneered the Vario stepless transmission — a technology that steplessly regulates speed from zero to maximum without gear shifts. This became the industry premium standard and remains Fendt's main competitive edge. In 1997, the brand was acquired by the American corporation AGCO, which invested in range expansion. Today Fendt offers tractors from 75 to 517 hp (200, 300, 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000 Vario series), IDEAL combines (the flagship, fully redesigned in 2019), Katana forage harvesters, Rogator sprayers, Varios balers, and hay equipment. Fendt carries the nickname 'Rolls-Royce of tractors' thanks to build quality, the premium FendtONE cab, integrated telematics, and the lowest vibration levels in the industry. Pricing traditionally runs 15–25% above John Deere.

Presence in Ukraine
Fendt has been present in Ukraine since 2003 through the AGCO dealer network, which shares distribution with the group's other brands (Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Challenger). The official network is 4 centers in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Poltava. Fendt holds a niche 6% of the Ukrainian tractor market but with high concentration in the premium segment: 70% of Fendt sales are in models above 280 hp. The core customers are technology-focused agribusinesses (Mironivsky Khliboprodukt, Kernel, Nibulon) farming over 10,000 ha, which value the Vario transmission for fuel savings on long transport distances and precision agriculture integration. The flagship Fendt 1050 Vario (517 hp, the most powerful series-production wheeled tractor in the world) has about 30 units operating in Ukraine as of 2026. The Fendt IDEAL 10 combine (2019 launch) competes with John Deere X9 in the ultra-large rotary combine segment. On ADAM in April 2026, Fendt spare parts are quoted by 2–3 distributors (fewer than John Deere due to a smaller network) with an average delivery time of 8–14 days from Europe.
